We at Code School Finland come from many different backgrounds but we share a passion. We all want to work with something meaningful and we all want to learn new every day.

Jani Vallirinne

Head Teacher and Visionary

I have a master’s degree in computer science and I’m also a qualified teacher. I enjoy teaching kids and adults as well. My hobbies include climbing.

Kaisu Pallaskallio

CEO and Code Teacher

I have a master’s degree in computer science and I have a long international career in IT-business. Now I teach coding and lead our company. In my free time I like to travel, do sports and hang out with my family.

I hold a master’s degree in theoretical philosophy and I also teach philosophy and logic in the University of Oulu. I like coding because I love logic. My hobbies include football and traveling with my family.

I currently study in the University of Oulu to become a teacher. Computers and music are close to my heart and my hobbies include playing guitar, singing and computer games.

I studied computer sciences for 3 years in the University of Oulu but I changed my major to geography in order to become a class teacher. Currently I teach two courses; Monster and Minecraft, both of which combine geography and coding.

I have studied computer science in relation to retail and to media. I have worked for a long time in different positions in the IT-business. In my free time I spend time with my family, do volunteer work, work out, read, draw and paint.

I currently study in the University of Helsinki to become a teacher. I’m passionate about combining pedagogy and technology in a meaningful way. In my free time I play football and enjoy various other sports too.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in ICT and have worked in international companies doing programming, software design and product development. I’m interested in AI, robotics and data analysis. My hobbies include walking my dog, reading and studying.

I study in the University of Helsinki and have currently completed my bachelor level studies as a teacher of mathematics. My studies have given me a lot of experience in programming. I like playing board games in my free time.

Juuso Nieminen

I am a subject teacher of mathematics and computer science, and I’m also finishing my master’s degree on special education. During the recent years I have gained a lot of experience on both school and educational research. In addition to developing pedagogical practices, you can usually find me traveling or listening to music.

I have a master’s degree in cultural anthropology, and I’ve worked as a game designer in multiple game companies, as well as taught the art of making games to students of all ages.

I’m a bachelor in Business IT and I’ve specialized in enterprise information systems and programming. Programming is a big passion of mine and I’ve worked on various projects from the Internet of things to large scale web applications. Games and creating them has always been close to my heart. My teaching methods are practical and gamified.

I am an art teacher currently starting a career in IT. I get easily excited by the possibilities programming gives us for creating and expressing oneself – and try to nurture this excitement in others. In my free time I enjoy all that the city libraries have to offer and at home keep peace between the cat and the dog.

I teach ICT in a vocational school and study at the University of Helsinki to become a teacher. I used to study ICT in the University of applied sciences, but I wanted more human-oriented approach to ICT. My hobbies include board games and reading.
